Have you tried creating a different user, and logging in/installing the LMMS program? Hopefully this isn't going off in a totally wrong direction, but it's peculiar that you can't read log files. The r- in blue means you can read them, if you belong to group "adm". rw- r- 1 syslog adm 0 Jan 29 06:25 mail.errįirst three characters= permissions for the user that owns the file, second three characters= permissions for members of the group that owns the file, third set of three characters are permissions for all other users on the system. rw-r- 1 syslog adm 0 Jan 29 06:25 mail.err In my case there was only one "Sound" tab in that window, as opposed to three as the author had.-rw-r- 1 syslog adm 1015352 Jan 30 16:46 kern.log I did find one difference, given that I'm using a US-based Windows XP interface and the screenshot provided was based on the European variation. I followed the instructions, and I found that my problem was, well, no longer a problem. Well, after coming back to the forum for the first time since I last posted, and looking in the Tutorials forum, I found this thread: I'm just stick with my original settings I mentioned in this and my first post for now. The remainder of the options resulted in an unusable, super slo-mo, static sound. I tried it with the above settings at max and at the much lower default level, and still, it's super crackly.Ī few didn't work at all, and with some settings I was confronted with the audio settings menu when I'd start up LMMS (it said there was no sound output). wav file, the sound is still there BUT there is a lot more crackling and snapping during playback. I have 6400 frames / 146 as my SDL settings -perhaps that could be worth a try
